Serif font

Text in columns

Formal "high register" language

Few pictures and they tend to be smaller than those from a tabloid

Front page is rather plain

Content is political, serious, intellectual

Facts and figures give articles a well-researched and trustworthy tone

ABC1 demographic

Softer news if often in a separate insert
